Established after a Vietnam Consultative Group meeting between the Vietnamese government and its donor partners in Tokyo in 1997, the Vietnam Business Forum is one of the first public-private dialogue projects implemented by IFC and the World Bank.
The Forum's strength and effectiveness stem from a strong, direct partnership with the Vietnam Consultative Group. Issues raised by the Forum are immediately brought to the attention of the Consultative Group which can move promptly to address them.
The consortium's secretariat coordinates the Forum's day-to-day activities and manages the VBF Website. The Forum's seven working groups retain their structure and working mechanism in scheduling the Forum's biannual meetings.
