Minister, Chairman of the Office of the Government Mr. Mai Tien Dung receives VBF Delegation

    In the afternoon of November 13, Minister, Chairman of the Office of the Government Mr. Mai Tien Dung greeted VBF Management Board, led by Co-Chairman Mr. Hong Sun.

    Sharing with VBF delegation, Mr. Dung said that in recent years, the Government has been very drastic in reforming administrative procedures, reduce business conditions, and building e-Government. In the process of building e-Government, the Office of the Government received the help of many agencies and organizations such as: World Bank, Asian Development Bank; and embassies such as the UK, Japan, Korea, etc. have coordinated and sent experts to help OOG.

    The Prime Minister is directing drastically for the dual goal of preventing epidemics, restoring and promoting socio-economic development. Therefore, Mr. Mai Tien Dung hopes that there will be many comments on building institutions and policies, especially related to administrative reform and digital economy at VBF Forum 2020. In addition, there are requirements for the Government to promote reforms more strongly.

    Despite the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, Vietnam’s economy in the third quarter grew 2.62% & it is still in the process of removing difficulties for businesses. The Prime Minister has also set up a Working Group headed by Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh to assist the Prime Minister with large policy frameworks and conditions to promote foreign businesses to invest in Vietnam.

    At the meeting, our Co-Chairman Mr. Hong Sun expressed his thanks to the Government of Vietnam for its great support to the foreign business community in Vietnam. Every year, VBF organizes two forums in the middle of the year and the end of the year. However, in 2020, due to COVID-19 pandemic, the midterm forum was not held. Therefore, the business community is looking forward to the VBF Forum scheduled to be held in December. Mr. Hong Sun hopes that VBF and Vietnam government will continue to work closely in the coming time, not only for the Annual & Midterm VBF forums but also to exchange and resolve issues together.

    Mr. Dung welcomed the idea of developing a dialogue channel between the VBF and the Office of the Government to continue monitoring the contents and results of the Annual & Midterm VBF Forums. Regarding the timing and contents related to VBF Forum 2020, the Office of the Government will report to the Prime Minister after this meeting.
