VBF attended the consultation conference on the Draft Decree amending Decree 219 on foreign workers in Vietnam

On 27 May 2026, the Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) actively participated in the consultation conference in Hai Phong city on the Draft Decree amending Decree 219/2025/ND-CP on foreign workers in Vietnam, hosted by the Employment Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) and the Drafting Committee.
🔷 Following the recent public release of the Draft Decree for comments, the Steering Committee members of the VBF Human Resources Working Group (HRWG) have been working intensively with the business community to review the draft and consolidate practical recommendations in a timely manner for this in-person discussion with the authorities.
🔷 At the consultation meeting, VBF proactively raised a number of key recommendations focusing on improving the practicality and consistency of the Draft Decree, reducing administrative burdens, and enhancing flexibility for enterprises in recruiting and employing foreign workers in Vietnam. The discussion also reflected VBF’s continued efforts in facilitating constructive dialogue between the private sector and policymakers on issues directly impacting the business environment and investment climate.
🔷 In the meeting, Mr. Vu Trong Binh, Director General of the Employment Department, responded to and exchanged views on several recommendations raised by VBF.
🔷 As one of VBF’s important advocacy priorities, VBF and its HRWG will continue to closely follow the drafting process, actively engage with MOHA and relevant authorities, and gather further member inputs to support practical and effective policy recommendations. The second MOHA consultation meeting is expected to take place in Ho Chi Minh City this Friday.
